Our trip to Outer Banks Beaches!

We took a 2 hour nice drive down south to the beaches in NC called the Outer Banks and stayed a couple of days down there in a house in Southern Shores. We love to go there as they really like dogs there and allow them on most beaches. It is a great place to vacation with your dogs, Mom and Dad have been going there with their dogs for over 35 years. Sometimes we take our Motorhome down there out to the campground on Hatteras Island.

Below here we are with our little sunhats on sitting under the umbrella with our Daddy, grandniece Kendall and Mommy's sister on the beach in Kitty Hawk.
We saw a couple of other dogs there on the beach and greeted them with a big "woof woof"! Phooey after awhile Mom and Dad spoiled all our fun and and made us stop.

This is Mommy with Layla and Tizzy at the waters edge..... we ran in when those waves chased us but a couple of ones got our bellies all wet. weeeeeeeeeee that's cold!

Okay Mom that is enough fun, that is a big wave and we are out of here. Back to sitting in the shade and checking out all the other cool dogs on the beach. I saw a cute little chihuahua, You think it could be Chloe?

Okay this is better we like the shade much better even though we have new summer cuts that keep us cooler in the heat, it can get real hot here in the south with all that fur. Plus Mom said the sand falls out easier.

Mom has been trying out her new camera she got for her birthday before we left and trying to figure out how to use all the adjustments on it. She still hasn't figured out the video part yet.

Layla sticking close to her Daddy. She sure is a Daddy's girl.

Hey Kendall you going to keep all that watermelon for yourself? We love watermelon too ya know. hehe we love Kendall when she drops food and we clean up big time! I don't know what that is all about but sometimes she will feed us all her food. What a girl!

Well we did our best begging with sad puppy eyes and finally scored some watermelon. Boy we are good!

Hey they didn't tell us they went to eat at an all you can eat seafood buffet there!
Where was the doggy bag we didn't get a sniff!

Dad is eating snow crab legs and shrimp, hey we like that too. Boy even Kendall ate some crab legs and seafood.
Our sister Sassy who is at the rainbow bridge would not eat shrimp they gave her, instead she would drop it and roll in it, guess she liked the smell better than the taste. You can bet we don't turn down much. Mommy and Daddy usually save us a bite off their plates. Not this time!

Here we watched the boats coming back in from the back porch and saw this Jack Russell on the boat. He sure looks like he is having fun.
A couple of years ago Mommy's sister's golden retriever Tigger jumped off the boat right into the canal with his Mom still holding his leash. Good thing he did not weigh a 100 lbs like he does now or they would have had a hard time lifting him out of the water.

So after Mom unpacked, put away and washed everything, including a quick bath for us doggies and her she said she needed another vacation but this time at home! We were happy to be back home too.

Happy 5th Birthday Katy Rose!

Today is Katy Rose's 5th Birthday. We girls knew exactly what was going to happen when Mom started putting the party together so we ran and got in our seats. We have done this many times before, who says dogs don't remember!

This is Katy Rose, the Birthday girl waiting so patiently. Do I look pitiful enough?

Is that food I see Layla says?
Oh boy chicken nuggets, beef, and hard boiled eggs, and for dessert homemade apricot ice cream, that is our favorite treat, we love ice cream.

Hurry Mom we are hungry and can only wait so long! I am pretty sure this is torture but as long as we get food, I guess we will wear these silly hats for Mom!

Yeah!! Let the eating begin!!

Tizzy says yum this is some good stuff!

Layla says this is sooooo good!

Katy and Tizzy say Boy oh boy we sure love ice cream. Hey Katy want me to clean your face for you?

Okay time to clean those faces on the lounger, yep that feels just right!

We are going to the Beach!

Mom has been busy celebrating four family birthdays and trying to get us shaved down for our summer cuts and packing for a trip to the beaches in the Outer Banks in North Carolina. They are very dog friendly there and allow dogs on the beaches but it has been awhile since we have been there. We love walking on the beach where our noses go into high sniffing smelling all the neat smells. When Ginger their first dog would go there she loved to swim in the ocean with them and chase the hermit crabs and birds. We chase after the birds after all we are bird dogs but we run from the waves.

Mom's favortie place to shop is at The Outer Barks! They have lots of neat dog things.

Here are some older pictures of us on the beach. Mom got a new camera for her birthday as soon as she figures out how to use it she will be trying it out on our trip.

Below is Molly on the beach in Duck, NC

on the boardwalk resting with our Daddy.

Layla and Tizzy on the beach with their cousins the Dachshunds Blackie and Mindy.

We love this billboard coming out to the Outer Banks showing cockers like us having fun on the beach.

Ruby's toy gets a bath!

Mom was looking around the Internet and found this funny pet picture on the PetSugar website and said we just had to share. She was laughing so hard because she says the look on Ruby's face watching her look a like dog toy getting a bath is just priceless!

Come on Mom open up those Sardines!

A couple of weeks ago our Mom bought us some sardines to try for a special treat. She read it would be very healthy for us but so far we have not even had a sniff of it.

See Mom doesn't like fish, doesn't eat fish and she doesn't like the smell of fish!!

However she does love us so today was a big step when she took the sardines out of the pantry and put it on the kitchen counter.

She has been looking at it and planning how she is going to feed these stinky fish to us!

Wohoo we can't wait!! We'll eat anything!

We don't have 15 friends to pass this lovely award on to so anyone can snag this award and we also want to pass on our love and light award below. Please feel free to snag it and send to your friends.

Happy Mother's Day!

Our Mom is a good hunter!

This time Mommy found a sirloin steak from the day old meat counter and brought it home to cook up for us. Yummy, the smell was so delicious we didn't budge from the kitchen or stove and watching every move she made. You never know she could just drop some on the floor and you have to be fast around here with two sisters ready to grab any goodies that might fall. We do a good job keeping the floor cleaned up for Mommy. We especially like it when the young kids come over they leave lots of crumbs for us and even share sometimes.

Mommy laughs at us and says we have such human qualities like licking our lips in anticipation, we drool a little too but who can blame us, IT's BEEF!!!! We love our special treats.

Is it ready yet?

Put your dog and your wife in the trunk of the car for an hour.

Bath day again!

Darn it can't be bath time again so soon but Mom said since it was so hot out she decided to use the outside hose on us and let us air dry outside. It felt good and we all ran around scooting on those big towels she put down for us.
She gave us three dogs a bath with the
Hydrosurge Rapid bathing system
in just 6 minutes, she loves that bathing system and so do we as it is over faster for us. We love scooting the best.

Hey let us in we don't want to be outside here by ourselves!

Silly Mommy!

Mommy fixed her coat's lining and pocket yesterday. Silly Mommy she puts doggie treats in her pocket and then forgets to give them to us.
She knows we don't have any fingers to get them out ourselves so what is a dog to do, but use the next best thing, our teeths! There is no hiding a treat from us we can sniff them out anywhere.

Windy Wednesday!

It is sunny but windy today, the wind makes our ears fly and us frisky so we ran a couple of laps around the yard today. The last couple of days has been raining so Dad is still working on the garden and Mom is enjoying the Azalea's that are in bloom now. They won't be blooming for long but they are just beautiful when they do. The rest of the year it is just a green bush but then the summer flowers will be in bloom so we can have more color in our garden.

4 Spoiled Cocker Spaniels live here!

What a beautiful day yesterday and today, we helped Mom and Dad do some yard work. Dad is getting the garden ready to plant. Yummy we can't wait till this summer when he throws some cherry tomatoes our way. We are pretty good at catching them in mid air.

So we were just running around and looking cute so Mom had to run and get the camera and of course some treats too, after all we work for treats and taking pictures is hard work for us girls. This picture is us in the rose garden with our St. Francis of Assisi statue. He watches over us because he is the patron saint of animals and always followed everything Jesus said and did.

In the background you can see Daddy's little garden house and in the next picture you can see the close up of the flower box on his garden house that he made a couple of years ago. It says 4 Spoiled Cocker Spaniels live here and each bone has our name on it. Click on the picture to see it much bigger.

I went to a Tax Tea Party!

Hi All, Tizzy here,
Mom and Dad dressed me up in my fourth of July dress and took me to a Tax Tea Party here in Virginia. There were lots of nice people there carrying signs and walking around the pretty water fountain. I even had my own sign!
Layla and Katy did not get to go because they are just scardy cats but nothing scares me. I am used to big crowds since I was a show dog before I came to live here. I got lots of treats and people took my picture and they were petting me. I sure love all that attention. It was a little cold but I had my red sweater on under my dress.
Wow and then it could not get any better, Mom and Dad took me out to lunch at Sonic!
When I came home Layla and Katy were barking at me to find out where I had been. They were smelling my breath and jumping all over me but I didn't tell them about all the goodies I got. hehehe
I don't know what tax day is, but after all that, whew I needed to take a nap in my bed.

You can see all our pictures here.

A Happy Easter Egg Hunt!

Mom groomed us all just in time for Easter. We really don't like all that fussing but Mom gives us lots of praise and treats to make it more fun for us. Mom says we will do anything for a treat. She is right we are treat monsters extraordinaire!

Every Easter Mom and Dad put a small treat in some plastic Easter eggs then hide them in our yard. Then they let us out and we run outside to find the eggs, bite them open and eat the treats. Layla usually gets most of them because she is a really good at finding the eggs and zooming all over the yard looking for them. Katy has only done it a couple of years so Mom helps her find some so she gets her share. Tizzy is good at hunting them out too but Layla is way faster. We sure love playing this game we could do this everyday!
Layla in her fancy Easter bonnet.

We hope all your puppy dogs out there had a Happy and Blessed Easter!

Movie night- Marley and Me!

We all watched "Marley and Me" Mom and Dad had waited for it to come out in DVD because they just could not go to the movie theater because they heard people were leaving in tears and sobbing at the sad ending. If you ever had a mischievous dog like Marley, it will make you smile and laugh too but don't let the sad ending stop you from seeing it. There is a good message in there.
It reminded us of our Molly, she was a bad girl too but she was our special bad girl, that girl just had so much personality, Mom said it was way too quiet here when she went to the bridge.
Molly lived her life at full speed, getting into everything, she went to puppy class with Layla but failed because she had anxiety so she whined and barked at the other dogs.
She even dug up her own carrot once from the garden, Mommy didn't know what that ugly brown and orange thing was Molly was eating on her clean carpet. Dad would fence off the fruit trees and garden and Molly would find a way in, then he would build a higher fence, this went on a few times till Daddy finally won. Molly was a very smart dog and food motivated.
Dad told Mom to quit leaving her nightstand drawer open, Mom said I didn't open that! Sure enough they set up a video and Molly comes in and opened the drawer while balancing on the chair next to it. She was looking for Mommy's mints.
You could see her outside jumping up and down trying to snag some plums or apples right off the tree.
If you see the movie make sure you have those tissues ready but most of all don't forget the popcorn we doggies really love popcorn and cuddling up with our humans.
